I’m so excited to announce I’ll be taking part in an upcoming exhibition at
‘Into the Spotlight – A Celebration of New Waterford Art' opens at Theatre Royal Waterford in partnership with GOMA Gallery of Modern Art Waterford on 20th August and runs until 8th of November and will feature an eclectic mix of work produced in Waterford during the pandemic that includes printmaking, painting, photography, ceramics and multimedia visual art.
HABOO – ‘Double Rainbow’ Modular Test-Tube Vase
This handmade, modular-design piece consists of eight individual elements - colourful terrazzo-style bases with double test-tube ‘vases’ - which can be displayed as standalone isolated pieces, or interwoven with the seven other elements to be arranged in a variety of interlocking displays, as an impactful centrepiece.
The piece was created in 2021, with the idea that the individual bases are small enough to fit on a desk, in order to bring a little joy to remote-working - or if combined with the full set, that the centrepiece can be rearranged over the changing seasons, filling each test tube with seasonal flowers.
- Jesmonite Eco-Resin
- Glass test-tubes
Variable – interlocking elements which can be displayed in a variety of interlocking displays.
Here’s a video of myself styling the piece. I had so much fun experimenting with different colour combinations and playing around with different placements. It’s one of my largest pieces to date!
Be sure to pop into Theatre Royal to view it along with 10 other Waterford artists, Find out more about the exhibition here
